A nightclub has been granted permission to extend its opening hours until 6am at weekends, following police confirmation that there had been "no evidence of persistent issues". Residents and businesses objected to a licence application for Fusion in Margate, citing issues with loud music and aggressive punters at the venue.

The club has been operating under temporary event notices (TENs) – essentially one-off licences – since it first opened, but has now been awarded a full-time licence by Thanet District Council (TDC) on its second attempt.
