UPDATE: Several parents from the Girls Preparatory School (GPS) community are defending the school's former soccer coach who resigned amid hazing allegations.

On Monday, Local 3 got a copy of a letter that was sent to the GPS community by the head of school, Megan Cover, saying, that they discovered Patrick Winecoff had a pattern of hazing and initiation activities that go back several years.

The following statement, which supports Winecoff, was sent to Local 3 News on Wednesday by parents of former GPS soccer players:

"GPS’s claim of a long-standing “pattern of hazing” on the soccer team lacks credibility as the investigation did not comprehensively examine players prior to the fall of 2025. Patrick Winecoff maintains he was not aware of any behavior that took place on his teams that
