ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A third republican has entered the race for Minnesota governor.

State Representative Kristin Robbins, representing Maple Grove, just announced her campaign on Wednesday.

Robbins was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018.

She currently chairs Minnesota’s House Fraud Prevention Committee and wants to hold current Governor Tim Walz accountable for fraud, and what she calls “mismanaging our state.”

Fellow republicans, Dr. Scott Jensen, who lost to Walz in the 2022 election, and businessman Kendall Qualls are also running.

Walz has not officially said whether he plans to seek re-election.

The governor’s seat will be on the ballot in November 2026.
