Police have shared surveillance images in the hopes of tracking down an alleged attacker after, officials said, a woman was struck in the head by a bottle during an attempted robbery that happened last week.

According to police, the incident happened at about 11:36 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, when a 35-year-old woman told officials that she was approached by a man as she walked along the 2000 block of South Street, in South Philly, who tried to grab a cell phone out of her hand.

When the woman pulled away and fought back, officials said, the man struck her in the head with a bottle and pushed her to the ground.

He then fled west on South Street without taking her phone, police said.
