BARABOO, Wis. -- A Portage police officer accused of abusing his six-month-old son saw his cash bond set at $10,000 during an initial appearance in a Sauk County courtroom Wednesday.
Prosecutors asked that Cameron Coronado's bond be set at $10,000, citing his alleged abusive behavior and questioning his willingness to answer to the charges against him. Attorneys representing Coronado asked for a signature bond.
Coronado, 32, is charged with child abuse and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier. A criminal complaint alleges he shoved a pacifier down his infant son's throat so hard that it caused a cut in the baby's throat and bleeding on his brain.
