A Nelson County jury found a man guilty of felony charges in a child sex case involving a minor victim, the county’s chief prosecutor announced Tuesday.
Nelson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Daniel Rutherford announced in a news release that Juan Manuel Torres-Reyes, the defendant, was convicted in a jury trial in Nelson Circuit Court that started Monday and spanned two days. Torres-Reyes was found guilty of one count each of aggravated sexual battery of a minor less than 13 years of age, indecent liberties with a child and object sexual penetration of a minor less than age 13.
The crimes occurred when the victim was 11 years old, according to Rutherford. Torres-Reyes resides in Floyd County, according to online court records.
