LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has now identified the suspect in a deadly incident that happened near an early childhood center on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 2:54 p.m., officers with the LRPD were called to the scene of an incident at 15th and Bragg near the Rockefeller Early Childhood Center, close to the I-30 and I-630 interchange in Little Rock.

A caller told police that a woman, later identified as 36-year-old Michel'le Butler, was "struck" by a vehicle. Another call would come in that someone was shot at the location.

When police arrived, they found Butler unresponsive and was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but she unfortunately died while still at the scene. She was an employee of the Little Rock School
