The Central Coast Athletic Association (CCAA) football season kicks off Friday night.
With no great degree of expertise, here are the writer's picks.

Righetti (7-4, 2024) at Santa Maria (3-8).
Graduation hit both teams hard but, particularly with senior quarterback Nick Matautia returning for Righetti, the Warriors appear to have too much for the Saints in this one.
The pick: Righetti, 21-10.
Tulare Union (9-2, 2024) at St. Joseph (6-6).
Tulare Union quarterback Jordan Crisp threw for 2,550 yards last year, with 30 touchdown passes and just two interceptions. He's back. So are The Tribe's two top receivers, Brayden Stevenson and Demaje Riley.
That spells trouble for the St. Joseph secondary.
The pick: Tulare Union, 31-24.
