GREENSBORO, N.C. — As Hurricane Erin churns up the East Coast, emergency crews across North Carolina are stepping in to provide critical support.

Among them are Greensboro firefighters, now stationed on the Outer Banks to assist with storm preparations and potential recovery efforts. Their mission: to help wherever they’re needed most.

One constant in North Carolina is our commitment to each other. From the mountains to the coast, local departments are answering the call. Asheville Fire Department, West Buncombe Fire, and Greensboro Fire are just a few of the crews lending their resources and manpower to coastal communities bracing for the storm.
