A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Tucson at 6:47 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20. This warning applies to Pima and Pinal counties.
Meteorologists warned of winds as strong as 60 mph.
The National Weather Service warns: "Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds."
A dust storm warning also was issued with the weather service saying there was less than a quarter-mile visibility.
The National Weather Service warns: "Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!"
A flash flood warning also was issued through 9 p.m.
