HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- The Tri-State Better Business Bureau says inconsistent laws and regulations lead to an increase in scams related to online gambling.

According to a new study by the Bureau, online "grey market" and illegal gambling options are widespread and offer little legal protections for gamblers. An estimate of the size of the illegal online gambling market is estimated at over $400 billion according to the American gaming association.

BBB officials say if you use a gambling service you should be on the lookout for promises of big payouts, overseas locations and requests for payment via crypto currency.

They say there are also ways to avoid issues with these companies altogether. You can also visit their website to learn more and report a scam.
