METAIRIE, La. (Louisiana First) — The New Orleans Saints' quarterback competition is coming down to the wire. The black and gold are the only team in the NFL who have not yet named a starting quarterback.

Head coach Kellen Moore said he's going to let the competition between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler play out throughout the week and in the third and final preseason game.

A big reason why this competition is still ongoing is because of how close it is. Taking a look at the stats from just the first two preseason games, Rattlers completed 71.4% of his passes for 252 yards, a touchdown and one interception. He's also been sacked three times.

Meanwhile, the rookie, Shough, completed 70.6% of his passes for 231 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. He's also been sacked four time
