The Sullivan East Patriots play in one of the TSSAA’s top football leagues and that is no lie.

“I’ve never had anybody say they’d change places with me,” said East coach J.C. Simmons. “As far as our guys, we know every night is going to be a fistfight whether it’s in our region or the non-conference games on the schedule. … It’s the whole thing of taking it one game at a time.”

Heavyweights Greeneville and Elizabethton are once again expected to finish at the top of Region 1-4A and as usual there are several quality teams in the league.
