EUGENE — At a position where Oregon is going through a significant amount of churn, Sione Laulea returns a combination of experience and size no other Ducks cornerbacks offer.

However, the junior college transfer only saw action in four games while redshirting last season. Yet, the 6-foot-4 Laulea made his presence known in the limited action with three tackles, one interception and one pass breakup and enters this fall likely to be on the two-deep for the No. 7 Ducks.

“He’s certainly an above the line player for us,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “We feel like if he’s out on the field we can have success. He’s got length, been a much better communicator in Year 2 than Year 1. I think that comes with learning the defense. He’s showing up.”
