LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- One person was stabbed and another was taken into custody after a fight over a parking spot in west Las Vegas.

Shortly before 5:45 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1500 Block of South Buffalo Drive, near West Charleston Boulevard.

Police said two adults were involved. The victim and the suspect were in a verbal fight over a parking spot when the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach, police said.

The suspect initially left the area, but police located them a short time later and took them into custody.

Medical personnel took the victim to a local hospital in an unknown condition. Police said the victim needed surgery.
