LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A 14-year-old was taken to a local hospital after they were hit by a vehicle that then drove away.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, police responded to an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the intersection of Abbeyfield Rose Drive and Amigo Street, near St. Rose Parkway.
A dark colored sedan hit a 14-year-old pedestrian and then drove away from the area, police said.
Medical personnel took the teen to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The LVMPD reminds drivers that school is back in session and all laws in school zones should be followed. Drivers should also exercise added caution when school buses are present.
LVMPD traffic units are leading the investigation.
