A Harvey man charged with having lewd video chats with a 12-year-old girl was rearrested last week after investigators discovered video of him raping the victim, according to authorities.

Michael Pampas, 30, was booked Aug. 15 with first-degree rape, two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and possession of pornography involving a juvenile under the age of 13, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Pampas was first arrested Oct. 2 following an investigation by the Kenner Police Department.

Detectives there determined that Pampas had been video-chatting with the victim, carrying on conversations that were sexually explicit, according to Kenner Police Deputy Chief Mark McCormick.
