Tesco meal deal price rise sparks outcry as MP calls it a 'national outrage'
Tesco has faced a furious reaction after it announced meal deal prices will be getting a price increase for the third year in a row. The offer - consisting of a main food item, snack and drink - will now cost £3.85 for those with a Clubcard and £4.25 for regular shoppers.
The 25p increase prompted outrage across social media. Even politicians waded in, with Liberal Democrat MP for Maidenhead, Joshua Reynolds, blasting Tesco over the move.
Sharing a post on X that described the rise as “truly devastating” and “hardly a deal”, the 26-year-old MP said: “National outrage! Recall Parliament!”
