MICHIGAN CITY — Police say a 36-year-old driver led them on a 100-mph chase through the city before jumping from his moving vehicle and continuing to flee on foot before being taken into custody with the help of a stun gun.
Adam Vigil, of Michigan City, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and two counts of resisting law enforcement, records show.
He appeared to remain in custody early Thursday at the LaPorte County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
Michigan City police said they attempted to stop the vehicle in question around 9 p.m. Aug. 14 after seeing the driver, later identified as Vigil, disregard stop signs and accelerate.
