BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Mandan native Jaxon Duttenhefer has been named one of North Dakota State football’s six captains for the 2025 season. He is the only North Dakota native who is a captain this year.
Duttenhefer, a defensive tackle for the Bison, is entering his fifth season with the program.
“Honored is an understatement,” Duttenhefer posted on X. “Blessed to represent this team, university, and state.”
The other captains for the Bison are quarterback Cole Payton, wide receiver Bryce Lance, wide receiver Chris Harris, linebacker Logan Kopp and linebacker Nathaniel Staehling.
The Bison kick off their season on Aug. 30 at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
