Mo Vaughn was skeptical about launching a podcast because he spent his 12-year MLB career with a microphone in front of his face. But the former Boston Red Sox first baseman decided to give it a go.

Vaughn , along with ESPN Radio’s Brendan Tobin, will launch “MVP: The Mo Vaughn Podcast” on Thursday.

The guest list already includes athletes that Red Sox fans are familiar with including David Ortiz and Nomar Garciaparra .

Vaughn doesn’t want to be just another former athlete with a podcast.

“There’s not a lot of guys that get a chance to end their career the way they want to,” Vaughn told Awful Announcing . “They don’t get a chance to express what they want — a lot of things are written. Not everybody’s going to be Derek Jeter or Cal Ripken, Jr., or George Brett or some of thes
