WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - After an incredibly rainy start to 2025, things have slowed down a little bit over the past month. In some spots, some areas haven’t even picked up half an inch of rain so far in August. This is causing some concern.
“The whole county is starting to dry out really bad,” said Woodford County Fire Chief Melvin Montgomery.
Over the past few weeks, rain has been hit or miss across much of our area. In some spots, rainfall has not been an issue as several areas have picked up on at least a few inches of rain, including Lexington. For others like Woodford County, it’s a drier story.
“Everything is turning brown. In a few areas it’s a little green but most of it is starting to turn brown,” said Montgomery.
