ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas teen wanted for robbery was arrested after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase and crashing into a telephone pole.
Caleb Perez, 18, of Hudson, was arrested Wednesday after a car chase on Highway 94 that reached speeds over 85 mph. An Angelina County deputy responded to a white Cadillac in the city of Hudson that was going 71 mph in a 55 mph zone, according to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy tried to catch up with the Cadillac, but Perez sped up and made a turn onto FM 1194 South, where he continued to drive away at speeds in excess of 85 mph. He then tried to make a turn onto Parks Circle, but he ran off the road through a ditch and hit a telephone pole.
