The Cooperate Endeavor Agreement clears the way for the school zone cameras to once again become legally active.
This comes days after Attorney General Liz Murrill issued a letter to the city of New Orleans not only calling for refunds, but also warning that legal action and criminal charges will be pursued if anyone in the city activates the cameras without following state law. Advertisement
The CEA is in compliance with Act 103 of the 2024 Louisiana Legislative Session, which requires revenue sharing between municipalities and school governing authorities.
NOLA-PS will receive 40% of the net revenues from automated speed enforcement devices, red light cameras and mobile speed cameras in school zones, while the City retains 60%.
