An eight-month-old baby boy has been located in good health following an Amber Alert issued by Peel Regional Police on Thursday. The alert was activated after the child went missing in Brampton, prompting emergency notifications to be sent to phones across the province.
The boy was found after he was allegedly abandoned by the suspect. The Amber Alert was canceled around 6:40 p.m. after the child was safely recovered. Despite the positive outcome for the baby, authorities are still searching for the suspect involved in the case.
The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Shahzaib Memon. He is described as Middle Eastern, with black hair, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds.
In addition to seeking Memon, police are also looking for a grey 2023 Nissan Rogue with the Ontario license plate CZLM113. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the suspect or the vehicle to avoid approaching them and to contact 911 immediately.
