BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett was in the region on Thursday to present a check to the Bristol Public Library.

News Channel 11 had the opportunity to ask him about President Donald Trump and his claims that mail-in ballots are susceptible to voter fraud.

"In Tennessee, during a presidential year, we typically vote about maybe 2.5% of people by absentee, by mail," Hargett said. "We are very much a vote-in-person state. We do a lot of things to make sure that those absentee ballots meet the highest test of integrity, and one of those [is] signature requirements. People verify a signature when somebody requests an absentee ballot, we watermark our absentee ballots to make sure they can't be counterfeited."
