TRAVERSE CITY — Community Development Block Grant money will help people without homes in Traverse City, both through services to the unsheltered and by backing affordable rentals.
City commissioners have agreed to split between three agencies the $294,289 in federal funds the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development sends to the city: Goodwill Northern Michigan will get $96,000 for rental vouchers, Jubilee House will get $55,179 for staffing and Homestretch Nonprofit Housing will get a $143,110 boost for its planned apartment building on city Parking Lot O.
