The state’s police watchdog agency has decertified three former Massachusetts police officers, including two who faced criminal charges, records show.
The rulings, released Friday by the POST Commission , decertified former Fitchburg officer James McCall, former Methuen officer Matthew Bistany, and former Lowell officer Kevin Garneau.
A decertified officer cannot work for any law enforcement agency in Massachusetts.
McCall has 30 days to appeal, while Bistany and Garneau signed agreements waiving their appellate rights, records show.
Garneau was arrested in 2019 for allegedly raping a 16-year-old homeless girl while he was on duty.
