The timing is no accident. There’s a reason scammers are sending these in waves.
Don’t let your guard down, especially if you’re doing some of your back-to-school shopping online and expect a delivery.
Remember those package delivery scams? They’re back.
One scam text looks like it’s from UPS. It says they attempted to deliver, but there was a problem and you need to click on a link.
Lisa Schiller, an investigator with the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, says delivery scams always come in waves.
“A lot of people are getting items delivered as far as school supplies go, so have to watch out for those. Scammers impostoring Amazon. You get a text message. Don’t click on any links. Don’t respond. If you think there
