CHICAGO — Felony charges have been filed against a Chicago man accused of attacking a transit employee at a West Side CTA stop on Thursday morning.
According to police, 23-year-old Amir Cordova, a Clearing resident, has been charged with several felonies, including aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery of a victim over 60 and aggravated battery of a transit employee.
Cordova has also been charged with one misdemeanor count of theft.
Chicago police say the charges stem from an alleged attack that unfolded on a CTA Blue Line platform at the Grand stop in West Town.
Officers said the victim, a 70-year-old man working for the CTA, was on the platform when he was allegedly attacked by Cordova.
