A Pontiac man was sentenced Thursday in federal court for his role in an illegal drug distribution ring operating between Michigan and Kentucky.

At a hearing in U.S. District Court – Eastern District of Kentucky, Marvin Hunter, 32, was ordered to spend 132 months in prison after making a plea deal for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. According to his plea agreement, Hunter regularly imported the illegal substances from Michigan into Eastern Kentucky’s Magoffin County, between August 2021 and March 7, 2024. He was assisted by associates in Magoffin County to distribute the methamphetamine and fentanyl to dealers and users, officials said.
