Starting August 25, the Emporia Public Library (EPL) will switch over to Aspen Discovery, a new software catalog, for all library catalog functions.

Aspen Discovery will handle searches for all books, eBooks, audiobooks, and movies, manage checkouts and reading lists, while also providing recommendations based on reading interests.

According to a written release, the EPL will not be able to issue new library cards, renew any materials or patron accounts, and checkouts may be limited from August 20 to 24. Current account information, checkouts, and call history will transfer over to the new system. Card holders can log into the system using the default PIN, the last four digits of the phone number on file.
