FALMOUTH, Maine — Maine State Police asked drivers to avoid the northbound lane of Interstate 295 in Falmouth due to a crash Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were responding to a tractor trailer that jack-knifed at mile 12, according to a press release issued shortly after 2:30 p.m. by the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Officials have not shared if anyone was injured.

The northbound lanes reopened around 3:15 p.m., but state safety officials said traffic was expected to remain slow until the vehicles that were backed up during the closure clear the area.
