PORTAGE, Wis. (WKOW) — A Portage police officer charged with child abuse is out of a job.

Cameron Coronado was an officer with the Portage Police Department. He is charged in Columbia County Court with physical abuse of child - intentionally cause bodily harm and disorderly conduct, domestic abuse.

Portage Police Chief Keith Klafke announced during a press conference on Friday that the city reached a separation agreement with Coronado late Thursday.

"Cameron is no longer an employee with the city of Portage," Klafke said.

The chief added, "The Portage police officers take an oath to protect our public. And we do so with professionalism, integrity and honor. This off-duty conduct is extremely concerning, but it is not a reflection of the conduct expected from our police officers. Th
