After 200-plus career starts, there aren't many firsts left to accomplish for veteran Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas.

Mikolas and the Cardinals face the Rays at 6:35 p.m. (St. Louis time) Friday in the second of a four-day, three-game series. The teams are off Saturday due to a Buccaneers preseason game next door.

Offense carried the Cardinals to a 7-4 win in Thursday's opener .

For the right-hander and Florida native Mikolas (6-9, 4.99 ERA), it will be his first regular-season MLB start in a fully outdoor venue in his home state. What's more, it comes the day before his 37th birthday.

Historically, he has been strong in Tampa with a 2.40 career ERA in two starts with St. Louis, both hard-luck losses. He pitched seven or more innings and gave up two or fewer runs in both.
