ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Bugs, flies and piles of trash left unattended for weeks. Those are some of the conditions people in a Roanoke senior apartment complex say they’re dealing with. They reached out to WDBJ7 for help.

Senior citizens living at Blue Ridge Village Apartments on Melrose Avenue said life has gotten considerably worse for them over the past two years after a new property management company took over the complex.

They said the biggest problem has been the lack of a permanent maintenance staff, which has led to some of their maintenance issues going months without being resolved.

“I requested maintenance on May 22nd. I have yet to have anything fixed that I requested. Nobody even came to check and see what I was talking about,” said Linda Taylor, a Blue Ridge Village residen
