SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Parts of the ArkLaTex have been rather dry during the month of August and can use some rain. That needed rain could be on the way during the next week to ten days.
Drought worries: The expected rain next week is good news. The latest Drought Monitor released yesterday shows that level 1 drought conditions have developed over much of the northern half of the area. A few counties and parishes already have burn bans in effect.
Severe weather worries: The threat of rain will return to the ArkLaTex on Tuesday. Most models indicate that the most widespread and heaviest rain will occur later in the week. As of right now, it doesn’t appear that we will see a widespread severe weather threat. We could see some strong thunderstorm wind gusts similar to those we experi
