BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A public defender with Brooklyn Defender Services was terminated after posting on social media that “firing squads” should target Israelis, a remark watchdogs called violent and antisemitic, reports Fox News .

The attorney, Lucas Gomez, apologized after screenshots circulated, calling the post “awful, indefensible, and a lapse of judgment” tied to “misplaced emotions” over the war in Gaza, and saying it was not representative of his character or the organization.

Brooklyn Defender Services executive director Lisa Schreibersdorf condemned the comment as “hateful” and “antithetical to everything BDS stands for,” saying it undermined the group’s reputation.
