MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A month-long operation led by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) in the Eastern Panhandle has resulted in 34 arrests, authorities announced Thursday.
Operation Monarch, conducted from July 14 to Aug. 15, was aimed at reducing violent crime in the region and involved collaboration between the USMS Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, Jefferson and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Offices, Martinsburg and Charles Town police departments, and county prosecutors’ offices.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of $14,444 in cash, two handguns, one long gun, more than 400 grams of marijuana, and five grams of crack cocaine.
