LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - #1 Nebraska Volleyball defeated #3 Pittsburgh in 4 sets to win the first game of the Dani Busboom Kelly coaching era.
The Huskers and Panthers were the first match of the 2025 AVCA First Serve, the first weekend of the NCAA volleyball this season.
Nebraska won the first 2 sets. Pitt rallied in the 3rd to keep the match alive before the Huskers closed out the match in the 4th. The scores were as follows: (22-25, 11-25, 25-20, 23-25).
Harper Murray led the way for Nebraska. The Junior Outside hitter finished with 15 kills and 6 digs. As a team, the Huskers played great defense with 15 total blocks.
For the Panthers, Olivia Babcock had a match-high 21 kills. Babcock is the reigning AVCA Player of the Year.
