BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Boone County On Aging celebrated a new name for the organization and a new pavilion.

The organization officially changed its name to Senior Connections on Friday.

Despite the switch, the services will remain the same.

The group supports seniors in the area by helping with public transportation, providing in-home care and offering free use of mobility equipment.

"We wanted to have a name that really accurately reflected what we did, and we felt that Senior Connections really exemplified what we were wanting to do here," said Executive Director Kelly Killan. "So there was some confusion with the name of Boone County Council on Aging; sometimes people thought it was a governmental agency."
