PEARL, Miss. —
One school in Mississippi had an unexpected guest on Friday morning.
The Pearl Police Department, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Animal Control and the Rankin County Emergency Response were called to Faith Academy Christian School on Murray Drive in Pearl, Mississippi, which is around 5 miles from Jackson, Mississippi.

Beau Gray, a student, spotted an alligator in a pond outside the school around 7:30 a.m. when his mother dropped him off.
"I've been here more than 40 years, and we have never seen an alligator," Rita Butz, the school's secretary office manager, said.

Officials tried to get the reptile to come out of the water so they could capture it.
They were eventually able to coax the gator out of the water and capture
