The Easton Area High School football team held Central Bucks West scoreless for the first three quarters of its season-opener at Cottingham Stadium Friday night.

The Bucks trailed 19-0 at the start of the fourth quarter before a long touchdown run, a couple of long completions after their passing game had been nonexistent all night and an onside kick recovery helped them trim the deficit to just six points late on.

Down 26-20, CB West got the ball back at its own 15 with 1:36 left and moved the chains once before an ill-fated hook and ladder play on fourth-and-long ended its comeback hopes.

Easton held on to a 26-20 home win in the cross-conference matchup.
