TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Police Department is disputing a claim by the Pima County Attorney’s Office that officers failed to read a suspect his Miranda rights before interviewing him.
Earlier this week, Daniel Hollander reached a plea deal and was sentenced in a case involving threats made against a southern Arizona school.
Hollander received 1 1/2 years in prison, with a credit of 214 days for time served. He also received probation for 10 years. That sentence was met with shock from some in the community as well as elected leaders.
Hollander had pleaded guilty to one count of interfering with an educational institution, guilty to one count of making a terrorist threat, and guilty to one count of burglary.
