It's the constant barking throughout the night that annoys Maria Black and her family in their Indianapolis neighborhood. Their neighbor's dog, a couple of houses down, is left outside, and Black said he'll bark from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m., even in the rain.
That led her to report the barking to the city. She filed a complaint online, hoping the barking would stop. At one point, she wanted to give the dog something to calm him down.
"I'm so serious, because A: He shouldn’t be outside all hours of the night uncovered; and B: If he's getting on your nerves in the house, what do you think he is doing outside?" Black told IndyStar.
Black said she's already reported her neighbor's dog once, and so has her husband, but those reports only resulted in nights of silence for about a week before the bar
