For Jeff Hall, a member of the 1998 National Champion Tennessee Volunteers football team, the most important thing he learned was accountability.

“My greatest life lesson is what it means to be accountable,” Hall said. “It is the most important character trait that God has taught me.”

Hall was the featured speaker at the Morristown West High Quarterback Club Kickoff Dinner at Morristown Landing Thursday night.

Hall recalled the beginning of his kicking career at nine years of age, which came in the backyard of his Winchester home.

“My father and I were playing football,” he said. “Dad grabbed a block of wood and he asked me to put the football on that wood and kick it between two trees over at the edge of the woods.”

Hall and his dad worked on this day in and day out for many years. O
