KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — Part of U.S. 131 will close Tuesday, Aug. 26 while work on bridges over KL Avenue is underway.

The ramp from Stadium Drive to northbound U.S. 131 will close 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, per a Michigan Department of Transportation press release.

The on-ramp from Stadium Drive previously closed March 10 through June 26.

There also will be a single-lane closure on northbound U.S. 131 from Stadium Drive to West Main from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The closures are part of a $24 million effort to rebuild U.S. 131 overpasses that carry traffic over KL Avenue and the Amtrak rail just north of I-94.

In addition to rebuilding the two bridges, the work includes sewer upgrades, fresh pavement markings, new asphalt and a new nonmotorized path along KL Avenue.
