COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - A man was arrested in Council Bluffs after a missing Omaha child was found, authorities said Saturday.

According to a release from the Council Bluffs Police Department, officers received a report that a missing child, a 12-year-old girl, was possibly in the area of 2nd Avenue and 8th Street in Council Bluffs.

Once in the area, CBPD officers quickly found the girl, who was reported missing on August 19.

Members of CBPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, the US Marshals Service, and the Omaha Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit then launched an investigation into the circumstances of the child’s disappearance.
