One person is in critical condition after a crash in Meriden Friday night.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Research Parkway and Pond View Drive.

A car driving northbound on Research Parkway crossed the center line and collided head-on with a minivan driving in the other direction, according to police.

The car went off the road and rolled over, they said.

The female driver of the car was extricated and taken to the hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the minivan sustained significant injuries, but was able to answer questions, police said.
