Montgomery Fire and Rescue battled a blaze at a vacant hotel Saturday morning.

At about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 23, Engine 12, Engine 9, Truck 45, Rescue 95 and Car 33 went to the 5600 Block of Carmichael Road on a possible structure fire, said Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper. They found a vacant, two-story hotel structure with smoke visible and declared a W-3 working fire, he said.

Crews made entry and found a fire inside on the first floor and extinguished the flames. Firefighters conducted both primary and secondary searches with no one found, Cooper said. There were no reports of injuries to any civilians or firefighters. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
